Yi Hsuan Chiu, received her Bachelor’s Degree from The Juilliard School under the guidance of professor Albert Laszlo and is now a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School for her Master’s Degree. This past August, Ms. Chiu had the privilege to be invited by the music director and solo violinist Nai-Yuan Hu to play with Taiwan Connection Chamber Orchestra, and she also played with New Asia Chamber Music Society for its Lincoln Center debut “Seasons of Legacy” at Merkin Hall in April with many worldly known musicians. In 2016, She attended Aspen Music Festival as a fellowship student, and was a member of Aspen Chamber Symphony. In 2015, Ms. Chiu attended Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra Academy in Germany in which she was principal under the baton of Maestro Christoph Eschenbach. A native of Taiwan, Ms. Chiu also enjoys performing as a soloist. In 2013, She was the first-prize winner of American String Teachers Association Double Bass Solo Competition in New York City and won third Prize for the International Society of Bassists Solo Competition.
