Join us for a special Between the Bars series featuring Wei Sun, an accomplished guzheng player, as we celebrate the spirit of the Lunar New Year. This exclusive Sunday afternoon event will include an introduction to the guzheng’s history, mesmerizing demonstrations, and a stunning final performance.
It’s also a wonderful opportunity to mingle with fellow NACMS members who share a passion for music. This members-only event is free, and each member may bring one guest. To enhance the experience, we encourage attendees to bring a bottle of wine to share. Let’s enjoy music, culture, and community together!

About Wei Sun
● A young renown Guzheng performer from China: Ms. Sun was born in a musical family and has won many international awards.musical family and has won many international awards.
● Certified Senor Guzheng Instructor: Ms. Sun is a certified senior teacher ofGuzheng, a member of China National Instrumental Association and a member of the International Guzheng Association.
● Creative and Innovative in arranging Guzheng Performing Music: Trained in music production and arrangement during her conservatory years, Ms. Sun is not only a professional Guzheng performer, she is also a skilled music arranger. Wei Sun is creative and unconventional in her performance of Guzheng music. In 2017, Ms. Sun successfully debuted her Seven-Scale Guzheng performance at the ECHO Theme Concert and was acknowledged as breaking the traditional Five-Scale Guzheng performing techniques.

○ A guzheng teacher at the CBA Cultural and Art Center
○ The principal guzheng artist in Chinese music ensemble of New York
○ Participated in musical concerts held at the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall ,United Nations, Merkin Concert Hall,and other well respected concert halls.
○ Collaborating with US native rock band, the jazz band.
○ Performed Guzheng in the Broadway Musical show 《Noble family》
○ One of the co-founders of the trio band—StringsW in October 2017 and the ECHO theme concert was successfully held in Carnegie Hall, combining western instruments and rearranging Chinese folk music to interpret the classics, which was highly praised by the industry.
○ Key member of a new band “MISS” in Jan. 2019, as the Guzheng player and music arranger.
