Salon Concert: Ravel & Bruch: A Dialogue of Elegance and Emotion

In celebration of Maurice Ravel’s 150th birth anniversary, this program explores the delicate interplay of impressionistic colors and romantic lyricism, bringing together Ravel’s graceful clarity, Bruch’s rich emotional depth, and Haydn’s classical brilliance.

The evening begins with Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte, a hauntingly beautiful tribute to lost innocence, followed by Bruch’s Eight Pieces for Viola, Clarinet, and Piano, where soulful melodies and intimate textures weave a tapestry of romantic expression. Adding a touch of classical elegance, Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 76 No. 4, commonly known as Sunrise, unfolds with radiant lyricism and dynamic interplay, evoking the warmth and vitality of dawn. Concluding the program is Ravel’s Sonatine, a work of crystalline elegance and charm, embodying his signature refinement and luminous harmonies.

Join us for a night of sophisticated musical storytelling, where French impressionism meets German romanticism and Austrian classicism, celebrating Ravel’s enduring legacy.
