I. Allegro


Bela Horvath - Violin
Hungarian born violinist Bela Horvath began to play the violin at age 3. Starting his violin studies with his grandfather Bela immediately showed outstanding talent for the violin. Mr. Horvath won the National Janos Koncz violin competition in Hungary in 1997.
In 1999, he was one of the finalists of the 9th International Carl Flesch Violin Competition. In 2002, the renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman invited Mr. Horvath to study with him and his associate Patinka Kopec, at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Mr. Horvath has worked with world leading violinists such as, Zakhar Bron, Leonidas Kavakos, Jaime Laredo. Bela Horvath made his debut recital at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall in 2003.
As a soloist and recitalist, he has played many concerts around the world. He has been a faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music’s Pre-college division program since 2009.


Andy Lin - Viola
Taiwanese born violist and erhuist, Dr. Andy Lin, is recognized as one of the most promising and the only active performers who specialized in both western and eastern instruments.  Praised by The Strad “The great Molto adagio…..elicited some of the night’s most sensitive work, especially from Wei-Yang Andy Lin on viola.” and New York Times “Taiwanese-born violist Wei-Yang Andy Lin..…is also a virtuoso on the erhu, and he gave a brilliant performance.” Andy is the artistic director and co-founder of the New Asia Chamber Music Society.  He has appeared as a soloist with both the viola and/or erhu with orchestras such as the Busan Metropolitan Traditional Music Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, Incheon Philharmonic, the Juilliard Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, Orford Academy Orchestra, River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra.  Andy is also a member of the Musicians of Lenox Hill and serves as principal violist of the New York Classical Players and the Solisti Ensemble. 


Nan-Cheng Chen - Cello
Recently praised by Washington Post for his “fine playing”, Cellist Nan-Cheng Chen has soloed with Simon Bolivar Orchestra, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Queens Symphony Orchestra. Currently, he is the Executive Director of New Asia CMS and on the roster list of CME Artists. As an educator, Nan-Cheng taught at CUNY Queens College and Feitian College, and has held masterclasses at Penn State University, University of Wisconsin, University of Calgary and National Taiwan Normal University. Nan-Cheng holds a B.M. and M.M. from The Juilliard School, and is a doctoral candidate at Graduate Center at CUNY.
