For more than 200 years, people of every stripe have exalted the music of Ludwig van Beethoven as transcendent, path finding and profound. What is it about Beethoven’s music that has so endearingly captivated audiences? In this presentation, we will dive into the world of Beethoven’s music, covering both their immense beauty and the events that shaped Beethoven as an artist. We will explore the breadth of human thought and emotion that lies in these masterpieces of western culture.

Marshall Estrin is a composer based in New York City. Educated at The Juilliard School, his music has been performed at Carnegie Hall/Zankel Hall, throughout the United States, Asia and will soon have its premiere in Europe. In addition to composing, he has an extensive background in musicology and music theory.
