This month, we are featuring both our Between the Bars workshop and Salon Concert in one evening. We are excited to have Quartet 131 joining us for a pre-concert conversation and a salon concert. You will be introduced to Haydn and Beethoven's early string quartets.

Joseph Haydn is attributed with inventing the string quartet form. He wrote an extraordinarily prolific 68 quartets over an equally extraordinary trajectory of 43 years, from op. 1 (ca.1760) through the unfinished op. 103 (1803). Quartet 131 is delighted to present the infrequently heard first two, bubbling with invention, humor, and moments of soaring cantabile. Accompanying these youthful gems will be Beethoven's first assay into the form, the fleet, already masterful op. 18, no. 3, in D major (ca. 1801). Join us on Friday, April 17 for an unique experience crafted by these thrilling performers.
